Brandy + Tom

A few weeks ago Brandy and Tom got married at the Woodend Audubon Sanctuary in Silver Spring, MD.  They had Awesome weather!!!
Everyone got ready at the Hilton in Silver Spring......  I ran into Tom in the lobby who had just come from a run... and he showed me where Brandy would be getting ready... It was just funny to see the couple together before they actually got ready for the wedding. They were just hanging out in the room... laughing... talking.... What a relaxed couple!
Love Brandy's dress. She traveled to Harrisburg to get it!
Mmmm.... Perfect light.

And her Christian Louboutin shoes!

Lots of buttons!

Brandy got her mother and mother in law a handkerchief as a gift. Made me tear up...
Love the light in this pic too!!  Brandy was such a pretty bride!

First Glance! Tom seeing Brandy for the first time! I think he thinks she looks good...
A quick kiss before the elevator door closes...

Brandy has such a great smile ad super genuine.  :)

Just touching up a little bit of makeup...

Just a few details of the day.

The centerpieces on the tables looked great!  A big thanks to DaVinci Florist for doing such a great job.

Here are the moms having a good time!

Thanks Brandy and Tom!

Brittney + Kevin, Trash the Dress

So I went on a little road trip to Westminster to meet Brittney and Kevin for a Trash the Dress Session! They actually got married a few years ago, but wanted to have a session together to get some great portraits....
I drove up to the area and did a little scouting beforehand and found a few awesome spots!

Isn't this place awesome! Right off of a main road!

Love it!

Awesome light!!!

Look at the gorgeous fall leaves!!!

And found an awesome cornfield to run around in...

Let me just say that Brittney was a trooper!  By the end she had bug bites ALL over, and she has all sorts of cuts on her feet because of prickers!!!! Yikes! Thanks for such an awesome session... Hope you are all healed up!

Jason, Denby, and Keely!

Recently, I headed down to Annapolis to do a family session with Denby, Jason, and Keely. I actually knew Denby from my years as a teacher so it was great to see her again. I had such a wonderful time meeting her family....especially since her hubby is a Penn State grad...  (Just in case you have not paid attention to the recent rankings... We are ranked #3. I am hoping for a National Championship Game!).  Jason and Denby would surely attest that Keely was not in her best mood ever... but we still managed to get some cute shots! A little moody, but soooo cute! I felt terrible that I didn't catch her in a better mood. Hope it wasn't me. They did tell me that at her baptism she was the same way.... What did your priest say again guys? It was funny... but I might mess it up!! Ok... enough jabber from me....  on to the photos!

Already doing her own hair...just like mommy!

One of my favorites... Let me just say, Keely was very hard to keep up with!

Love this one as well...
Here is PSU daddy.

SO CUTE! Denby and Jason make having kids seem tempting. (Yes Denby... I mean it! Your daughter is adorable!)

There we go! We got some smiles here!!

Look at those eyes!

We have a few like this.... Trying to get a family shot... but someone just happens to run away..  I like it!

I love the next 2.... for obvious reasons.  :)
I couldn't pick one because the face she makes here is too funny!
We Are..... PENN STATE!   Yes, folks... I love this family! They have their game day gear on. Keely is already cheering for Penn State by the way.  She kept saying, "Penn State"

And she's off!  ... Again :)
Some pics at the dock. Keely likes boats and she was in pretty good spirits here. Tired...  and probably hungry.... but still cute!

And this is my absolute favorite of the day! Love it, love it! I would put that on a Christmas card. Seriously.  :)

This is one of my favorites!

Just trying to have some fun with shadows....
Love the fall colors!! Yay for the leaves starting to change colors here!

An awesome view of the inner harbor... Perfect fall day!

This is probably my favorite shot of the day...

This is a face that they make.... don't ask me... I don't know... but it was cute!

Thanks for a great session guys!

Neil + Cassen

Dear old Blog.... I'm Back! It has been awhile since I posted... and I will hopefully be posting more in these next few days! I have exciting stuff to post... senior sessions, engagement sessions, weddings, trash the dress sessions, Christmas Card specials.... my head is spinning! So stay tuned.
If you didn't know... my website was down for about 4 days.... and it is in the final stages of the few changes that I made with my hosting and client cart, etc.  So, you will notice that my client gallery is down... but that should be ready in the next few days. I am just waiting on my shopping cart guy to move the info to my new hosting company. Thanks for all of your patience with the changes... It has all been going on for a little over a month and has been a little frustrating at times, but it could always be worse!
So on to the reason why I am posting! Neil and Cassen are married! They have been such a fun couple to work with!!!
There is so much that I could write about this wedding! First of all, it was POURING rain and this was an outdoor wedding, and let me just say, Neil and Cassen had the BEST attitudes ever! Cassen just bounced around the house with excitement because she was so excited to marry Neil. The rain truly didn't even phase her. Did I mention this wasn't just a sprinkle... not a heavy drizzle.... it was downpouring!
These are Neil and Cassen's favors. Cassen made them herself (as well as the invitations, programs, etc..)  The were so cute! Inside was a bookmark that she made that said "Sowing the Seeds of Love" and inside were also a packet of seeds, labeled "Love Seeds."  Cassen and Neil had planted a field of flowers behind where they got married so that they would blossom for the wedding and make a great backdrop...

The programs...
Cassen's bouquet...
Getting ready!

Here is Neil with his brother, who was his best man. Despite how it looks... it was raining (but had slowed down just a tad)!
The ceremony started a bit late.... because of the rain. Notice how soaked Cassen's dad is! The rain stopped just about 10 minutes before the ceremony started. Perfect Timing! And good thing, because Cassen didn't have anything to walk under (besides an umbrella)!
Dad giving away his little girl.

Some guests staying dry

Now to the reception toast...
The shoes of the gal who gave a toast....

Cassen's mom joined her and her father for the Father-Daughter dance...
Neil and his mom. So sweet....
Cassen's mom watching her and Neil dance.
We left the reception for a few minutes to have a little photo adventure!

Cassen's Matron of honor was her Aunt (her mom's sister). Love it. Both Neil and Cassen have AMAZING families!

Cassen and one of her 3 brothers...  You can tell that all 3 of them are just so proud of her.

When we went on our little adventure, Neil and Cassen ran off to dance to a sweet slow song that the DJ played. They are too cute!
And they ended it with a dip!

In a few days I hope to post their Trash the Dress Session!!!

Jennie + Kenny

Last week (yes...behind on my blogging!)I met Kenny and Jennie for their engagement session. We shot in the Hopkins area and found some really cool spots! Kenny actually went to Hopkins... so hopefully our shoot brought back good college memories! They are actually getting married next May in PA, at the Cameron Estate Inn. It will be gorgeous!

My favorite of the day. Donna's was Jennie's changing place. We rotated turns grabbing a cup of coffee since it was a bit chilly out! I love the fall.....but am not quite ready for the cold weather!!!

After exploring the Hopkins area, we went over to the Druid Hill Park area to catch some pretty greenery and water!

A perfect sky!!

Beth...Trash the Dress

Last week, Beth and I headed up 83, close to the PA line, because I heard about these amazing sunflower fields. Well, it was definitely an adventure! We did find out that if we had showed up 2 weeks ago, they were in their prime... so I have marked my calendar for next year...
Well, here we are in the back of the field... because we were trying to discretely trespass (does that make it ok?), but finally we just decided to go knock on the door at the property and ask if we might play in their field. The family was super nice! So, here we are having a bit of fun.
I initially sent Beth into the field... and she stopped dead in her tracks... "Meaghan, there is a bee on EVERY flower... AND there are honeycombs all over the ground!"   So of course, I looked around, and yes on EVERY flower there was a bee. I mean, common sense would say that there would of course be a TON of bees in a flower field... but when you are thinking about great shots, you don't really think about the bees. If they would just fly away for an hour and let us have some fun!!! So needless to say we stayed along the edge for fear of a bee or 2, or 7, or 25 bees getting caught under Beth's dress... And nobody would want to see that.

Beth is soooo fun to photograph!!! She just got married this July, and I wasn't able to shoot her wedding :( because I was in a friends wedding... :)

I am on this farm kick... usually I like shooting in an urban area... but this might be my new fascination.
Isn't she cute?!?! Lucky Ted!

Brian + Lori

You might remember Lori and Brian, from just over a week ago. They just had their engagement session, and now their wedding. People thought my husband and I were crazy to plan our wedding in 4 months... well Lori and Brian planned their wedding in just over a month! Amazing!
They had their ceremony and reception at Celebrations at the Bay.  It certainly proved to be an interesting day... because the weather was just not cooperating, but it truly turned out to be a Beautiful wedding even if plans had to change. Lori and Brian now live on a boat, and for the wedding, all of the guys planned to come by boat, Lori and Brian were to have an outdoor ceremony/reception, and then Lori and Brian were going to leave by boat. So, needless to say, they were unable to do this because of the rain and the crazy wind!
Here are the ladies toasting to Lori's Wedding Day!
Her friend Amanda... with some of the sweetest words. I had to try not to choke up.
Flowers by the wonderful ladies at Crimson and Clover Designs.

Lori and her gals saying a few prayers before the ceremony... This is Lori and her mom.
Lori and her mom again...

Lori taking a peek at the ceremony set up!
We were able to take a few photos outside, under the safety of an overhang... and with the building blocking the wind!  :)
Lori really did handle the weather and stressful circumstances well. She doesn't even look phased!
I did manage to get her outside for a few seconds... literally, just seconds... Here is the first pic....
and this is a pic about 2 seconds later. I love it!  We really could have gotten some amazing photos outside... but this was before the ceremony and it was a must that we kept Lori intact.  :)  She might have blown away in that wind!
And the guys... Here is Brian
And the rest of the guys. You can actually see the rain on Brian's suit.  They were troopers!

The worship at the ceremony was awesome! They sang a few of my favorite songs. The worship team and pastor were from Streetlite Church. I plan to check it out!

Such a sweet moment of the two of them worshipping together.

First Dance.

The young guys doing the worm!

I love the rain and the lights outside the tent in this photo!

We tried to go out in the elements again... for a few pics.  :)  We had about a minute. It was one wet, windy, and cold minute, but we grabbed a few shots!

Thanks Lori and Brian!! You guys had such a beautiful ceremony!

Katy + Justin

Last week I went with Katy and Justin to smalltown New Jersey for a Trash the Dress Session. Katy and Justin got married 2 years ago, but didn't have any portraits that they absolutely loved.... so we went out to have some fun....

Love the yellow field!!
We stopped at an old barn... It was a little creepy when Justin went to open the door, but luckily we didn't find anything scary... There were actually some really cool finds inside.

Love these next 2. Katy started with her hands on her hips.... like she didn't want to be kissed...
To this! Guess she liked it after all.  :)

A little fun in the road.  :)
hitchhiking...
We went out on a little boat... Katy kept yelling "Does it look like we are standing in the middle of the pond?"   "Ummm, yes, Katy. You ARE in the middle of the pond."  ;)
One of my favorites...

Pumpkin Patch!!!

Yesterday my hubby and I went to visit our friends Meg and Steve to watch the Penn State football game in Leesburg, VA. Go Penn State! We are ranked 6 for all of you out there who haven't checked the rankings yet. It has been quite awhile since we have had a good team. Of course our schedule isn't that tough per say, but wins are wins and we keep doing it! Did you say Rosebowl? That would be AMAZING!
So after watching the game, we headed over to the pumpkin patch. My hubby had never been to a pumpkin patch to pick a pumpkin off of the vine!!!! (Neither had Meg and Steve!). So needless to say, it was a must!
These 2 photos aren't from the Pumpkin Patch that we went to. They are from a stand on the east side of the Bay Bridge. Josh and I went on a little adventure on Friday.. and we just happened to stop here. The biggest pumpkins that I had ever seen!

And the prettiest mums!
So here we are in Leesburg at the Temple Hall Farm Regional Park. Here is Josh wandering through the pumpkin patch with his pants rolled up like Huckleberry Fin.
Meg and Steve...
Meg found a good one!

I found a good one!

Very typical of Josh... pressing his pumpkin. Everything always somehow relates to working out.  He has even bench pressed me...

Waiting for the tractor to come back.

Looks like someone had a pretty good time! Like his glasses? I got him a pair of Oakley's for his birthday!
Weighing our pumpkins.. Of course it wasn't a competition, but mine is the bigger one in front. It was 32.something pounds and Josh's was 29.something pounds.

Meg pulling my giant pumpkin.
Me, pulling my giant pumpkin.
Yes, I had to get in the radio flyer. And, yes I did have high heels on. I am only 5'3" and I have to wear heels 99% off the time because my pants are always too long. I got made fun of for wearing my heels to the pumpkin farm, until we were in the corn maze and we were able to track where we had already been because my heels left prints all over the path. They made fun of me... and that is ok. I like to call it Strategy.  :)  So, next time you go to a corn maze ladies... wear heels!

Here's Huckleberry Fin again...

Gorgeous sunset! We were still in the corn maize... hoping to get out before dark.
No, Meg is not sleeping. Yes, Meg wanted to sleep. Meg and Steve ran 20 miles the morning we went to the pumpkin farm because they are training for the Marine Corps Marathon.

Lots of posts to come!!! Have been shooting a ton!
